At the heart of giving is the Apostle Paul’s encouragement to the Philippian’s that their gifts are “a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God”.
17Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account. 18I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.” (Philippians 4:17-18 ESV)
It likely comes as no surprise we live in world that requires resources for a church such as ours to operate. Funds for things like missions, benevolence, teaching material, physical space, utilities, wages, and insurance are a necessity. We are content in trusting God for such provisions as Paul did when he said,
“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.” (Philippians 4:11 ESV)
As such, our Father will also meet our church’s needs and we are content in trusting Him to do so.
However, God uses His people to bring about this end. Therefore, we do not want to dismiss that God may have put giving on your heart.
We have several ways that you can participate in giving to and through Gulf Coast Community Church of Brandon.
